After his study in Japan, Toyohiko Satoh (1943) came to Europe in 1968 to study lute with Eugen Dombois in Switzerland. Since 1970 he had recorded extensively for different labels. He performed with musicians like Frans Brüggen, Gustav Leonardt, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Elly Ameling. Toyohiko Satoh is touring all over the world. Since 1973 he is lute professor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, The Netherlands.
