Remco de Haan and Erik Westerhof established their Guitar Duo in 1980, while they were studying under Willem van Lier at the Groningen Academy of Music in the Netherlands. Both graduated in 1983 and have since then built up an international career for themselves. They are regarded as one of the leading guitar ensembles currently active.
