Dick Hoogeveen started to play the guitar at the age of 11 years. In 1964 he had his diploma for solo guitar playing at the Rotterdam Conservatory. He did masterclasses with Narciso Yepes and Abel Carlevaro and won the 2nd prize at the International Guitar Contest of the RTF in Paris.

Dick Hoogeveen is mainly occupied as a performing musician of chamber music and gives concerts throughout Europe. He was teacher at the Rotterdam Conservatory from 1973 till 2002.
